Teams entering the Men's Open Cup competition are also entering the USSF Lamar Hunt Open Cup. This competition allows our amateur men teams the possibility of playing Professional Development League (PDL) teams and Major League Soccer (MLS) teams for the championship title. Considerable travel is required to compete for this Cup.
The competition for the USASA National Cups 2010-2011 begins in Nebraska and the regional competition will be held in Kansas City, KS in June 2011. The National Finals, where the regional winners in all competitions compete for the national championship title, will be announced later this year.
Team Eligibility Requirements:
Any team within the boundaries of Nebraska, registered in a USASA affiliated league shall be allowed to enter the Amateur State Cup competition. The winner of the Amateur State Cup competition will be eligible to enter the Regional Cup competition.
Player Eligibility Requirements:
Any player participating in the Nebraska Amateur State Cup must be registered with Nebraska State Soccer Association. Any player participating with more than one team, in different divisions of play, must have a player pass for each team. A professional player may not player in the Amateur Cup.
The Open Cup is the highest level of play. Considerable travel is required to compete in this competition on a Regional and National basis. The Amateur Cup is primarily for league teams, however, the competition level is still very high.
