Nebraska State Soccer is happy to announce the hiring of two additional team members! Jeremy Tosaya has been hired as our new Director of Coaching Education and Mitch Kavanagh has been hired as the Director of ODP (Olympic Development Program).
Jeremy is currently head coach at Nebraska Christian College and Technical Director at Elkhorn Soccer Club. Jeremy has a US Soccer `A’ License, United Soccer Coaches Premier Diploma, US Soccer Grassroots Instructor License and US Soccer National Youth License. Prior to his current positions, Jeremy was the Technical Director for South Dakota State Soccer Association and has coached several collegiate level teams. He has been heavily involved in coaching education as an instructor for the past few years in Nebraska and is excited to get our coaches in courses, as well as holding non-license education events for NSS members!
Mitch Kavanaugh has worked with Nebraska ODP Program since 2012. He has acted as both Assistant and Interim director as well as working on the USYS Region II ODP staff and helped identify talent at Regional and National ID camps. He is currently one of the Technical Directors for Gretna Soccer Club and Assistant for the Creighton University Men’s Soccer program. Mitch has plans for revamping our ODP program and implementing more beneficial events for the players involved. Tryouts for next year’s Olympic Development Program will take place in August.
These two new staff members will replace what was previously one position. “By splitting the position into two jobs, it will allow for more focus within each department and also allows NSS to get two great visions and voices instead of one,” says Executive Director, Casey Mann, “Both of these guys have already been working and representing NSS for some time now and it became apparent that, with the work they have already done, we had two of the best people we were ever going to find already with us.”
