Start Small. Get Playing. Grow From There.
Want to start a soccer team in your community but don’t have a local club or league to join?
Intro to Soccer provides a simple way for new teams and developing soccer communities to register with Nebraska State Soccer, get the support they need, and start playing.
Is this option right for you? Intro to Soccer may be a great fit if:
✔️ No club or league nearby. Your community doesn’t currently have an established NSS Member Club or League to join.
✔️ Some willing to organize. A volunteer who can help coordinate registration and act as team administrator.
✔️ You’re starting small. You’re organizing one team or a small group of teams—not building an entire soccer club just yet.
✔️ You want to see where soccer can go. Start for a season, build interest, and see how soccer grows in your community before considering full NSS membership.
Everything You Need to Get Started
Intro to Soccer teams receive access to many of the same resources and protections available throughout the Nebraska State Soccer community. From player registration and insurance coverage to Safe Soccer resources and opportunities to play, we’ll help provide the foundation your team needs to get started.
Most importantly, you don’t have to figure it all out on your own. Nebraska State Soccer staff will help guide your Team Administrator through registration, answer questions along the way, and connect your team with resources and playing opportunities as your program grows.
Starting a Team is Easier Than You Think!
1 — Tell Us About Your Team: Complete a short Intro to Soccer application with basic information about your community and team
2 — Register Your Team: NSS will help you get set up so your players and coaches can complete their registration and required Safe Soccer items.
3 — Get Out & Play! Once your team is registered and eligible, we’ll help connect you with playing opportunities so you can get your players on the field.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before you contact us. Tell us about your community and what you’re hoping to build, and we’ll help you determine the next steps.
