Nebraska State Soccer invites all parents, coaches and players to join us as we partner with Smart Gen Society to present some very important educational tools for our members in two different workshops. Everyone, our youth players especially, are spending more and more time online, these workshops will not only help the adults be aware and keep them safe, but also give the players tools of their own.
“Parenting & Coaching the iGen”
Tuesday May 12th 6pm - Adults (parents, coaches and more)
Social Media is the new normal, everyone is on it and coaches and organizations use it daily for self-promotion and marketing- but are we risking the safety and privacy of our players by doing so? Learn how the adults in their lives can help keep our players safe online. This course is not only for parents, but club coaches, managers and administrators as well to navigate the devices, new platforms and basic best practices for all involved to create preventative and proactive measures for safe digital media habits.

“Smart Digital Branding”
Wednesday May 13th 6pm - Youth players, 6th-12th grade
Social media is a great way to connect and communicate with your friends, but its also constantly creating your very own digital brand that could hurt, or help, you later in life. A college could now spend months following a social media account before a spot on a team is offered. In this course, players will learn how to protect themselves from possible negative implications of the digital world. Smart Gen Society will show you how to reduce digital based anxiety, peer and predator exploitation and ensure digital safety.
