Linus W. Fangman Scholarship

In 2003, Eastern Nebraska Soccer Association (ENSA) established a scholarship to recognize the many outstanding youth who are involved in soccer within our clubs and communities. ENSA decided to fund annual one-time scholarships for graduating high school seniors. The award is based on academic achievement, school involvement, and service to ENSA-related activities. Those activities included playing, coaching, or refereeing in the ENSA league.

In 2008, the scholarship was renamed The Linus W. Fangman ENSA Scholarship to honor Bill Fangman who served all of Nebraska soccer in general, and ENSA in particular, for many years as coach, competition coordinator, NSSA Field Commissioner, mentor, and friend.

Russ Tice Memorial Scholarship

In 2021, Eastern Nebraska Soccer Association (ENSA) in cooperation with Nebraska Referee Development Program (NRDP) established a scholarship to recognize the many outstanding youth soccer referees who are involved in soccer within our clubs and communities. ENSA decided to fund an annual one-time scholarship for a graduating high school senior. The award is based on academic achievement, school involvement, and service to Nebraska youth soccer as a referee.

The scholarship is named The Russ Tice Memorial Scholarship to honor Russ Tice who served all of Nebraska soccer in general as a referee and State Director of Instruction, and ENSA in particular, for many years as referee, coach, competition coordinator, referee scheduler, mentor, and friend. Russ was inducted into the Nebraska State Soccer Hall of Fame in the inaugural class in 2017 as the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement – Referee Award.
