Foundations of Coaching Level 1 Diploma ($60 per student-coach + facility cost & instructor transportation if needed)
Course Length: In-person for three hours
• Introduction to the “Six S’s” of Youth Coaching
• Learn the difference between a drill and an activity related to skill development
• Learn how to apply the acronym REST to a small-sided game to enhance skill development
Foundations of Coaching Level 2 & 3 Diploma ($75 per student-coach + facility cost & instructor transportation if needed)
Course Length: In-person for five hours
• Level 2: Define the difference between a drill vs activity related to skill development, designing a player-centered activity, an introduction to practice design methodologies
• Level 3: Coaches have an opportunity to create a lesson plan, coach in a game, and discussing the “Simple” concept (how coaches can transfer knowledge to understanding)
National or Advanced National Diploma (pricing and registration set by United Soccer Coaches)
Course Length: Five days plus a virtual assessment by video
National Diploma will acquaint the coach with the technical, tactical, psychological, and physical needs of soccer players and provide an organized and progressive methodology of coaching those needs. The application of technical and tactical knowledge on the field is the central theme of the course. The course includes sessions on the teaching process, principles of play, the importance of leading, physical, and psychological application to develop the player and team.
Advanced National Diploma emphasizes training players within a team concept designed to produce a successful environment. The curriculum includes team organization and training, advanced methodology, analysis and understanding systems of play, a focus on tactics within thirds of the field, technical position overviews, match analysis, and the psychological aspect of coaching.
