Nebraska State Soccer is excited to announce that it will be hosting our first ever Nebraska Presidents Cup event this year!
Presidents Cup is a US Youth Soccer national program with state, regional and national events for teams to compete. Much like State Cup and the National Championship Series, teams who win Nebraska Presidents Cup will earn their ticket to compete in the Midwest Region Presidents Cup, and Midwest winners will compete at the National Event in July.
“The staff has been talking about hosting a Presidents Cup event for several seasons now and feel like the time is better now than ever,” said Executive Director Casey Mann.
While we have sent representatives to the Midwest event for a few years in a row, these representatives were previously chosen by winning the First Division of Nebraska League. Tournament Director Crystal Collins says, “We have had some success in the past few years, and had teams start gaining interest in this level of event, so we think now is the time to do it justice and give these teams the true tournament experience, to win a Nebraska Presidents Cup title and represent us on the regional stage and beyond.”
Nebraska Presidents Cup fall event (15U-19U) will take place this August in Omaha. Based on the NYSL updated division names, this event is perfect for teams in the Level 1, Premier II divisions or near it. Registration opens July 1st and ends August 4th. The event for 13U & 14U will take place this spring.
